Hey there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Mr. Hunter was my government teacher in 1960. I was told I was his top student that year, but I got a B+. I kidded him about that for years as he was the inspiration for me to become a high school social studies teacher (yes government as well). Several years before his retirement as VP at Carlmont he changed my grade to an A and said that it would have been an A but it was his first year teaching and he was overly hard. I saw Bob at conferences etc. through the years but had not been in contact for some time. I am so sorry for his familys loss and sorry it has been so long for me to find out. He was an amazing person. As a side note 2 of my friends and I brought a bottle of champagne to him on the birth of one of his children (we were 17 at the time), don't ask how we bought it. God bless him and his family

As Student Body President, Bob Hunter and Norm Heise were my advisors. Our Student Senate met every day!! and I had to figure out what projects could justify 180 days of meetings. Bob and I became very good and quick lesson plans which served me well...since I became a teacher of history for 33 years. In my first teaching year at San Carlos High School, I received a Millard Fillmore challenge from Bob, which I readily accepted. One of the gimmicks we came up with was a soft drink bottle collection, where each bottle would add to Millard Fillmore points! The looser had to take the bottles to the store for redemption. I lost! My room was waist deep in bottles from the door to the lectern. We donated the money to ML King memorial...$300 dollars as I remember. That is a lot of bottles. I also ran the Annual Turkey Trot against Rick Dolwig...the student body president of Carlmont. We had a sag-wagon sprint us in front of the legitimate runners, ran half a lap and finished in a tie for first. Had Bob scratching his head on that one for a few moments. I also got my Masters at Stanford with Bob's enthusiastic support. A good man with an admirable legacy. Rod Liner Carlmont 1962

I graduated from Carlmont in 1968. Bob Hunter was the best teacher and mentor. I too went into public education and always carried my memories of Mr. Hunter with me to inspire me. He will be missed by many but his influence will carry on.

Kevin and family: I feel especially lucky to have been a part of your adopted family for four great-but-crazy weekends during our Woodside High years or 1974-1978. What a kick -- and all due to Bob's zeal for sharing knowledge. Could there be a better legacy?
