A great kind man who arranged for me to spend 1966-67 as Research Associate in his Department and work with Charles Packer on superplasticity which led on for me to be first to show a titanium alloy exhibits superplasticity when I returned to England. Also a stainless steel in 1969. This sequence of events would never have happened without my year with Oleg.
