Lasting Memories
John Andrew Muldoon
March 30, 1956-Dec. 25, 2014
Columbia, California
John Andrew Muldoon, formerly of Atherton and Woodside, California, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Christmas Day.
John was born in San Francisco on March 30, 1956, to Paul and Kathleen Muldoon of Atherton. He attended The Woodside Priory School and graduated from Woodside High School.
After the death of his parents, John moved to Columbia in 1993. He owned and operated Your Window Man, a window cleaning service, for over 20 years.
He was passionate about the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He spent many hours boating and fishing on New Melones Lake.
John's other love was restoring old cars, boats and classic motorcycles. He had many friends who would come visit him with their motorcycles and they would take to the hills for a day of dirt biking and comradery that was truly unique to John.
Ever since he was young, he had a huge soft spot in his heart for animals and he volunteered at the Humane Society of Tuolumne County in Jamestown. Throughout his life, he opened his home to many animals needing adoption, giving them a loving home.
His sense of humor will be treasured and remembered by all who knew him.
John leaves behind his wife, Kristin; his sister, Mary Elizabeth "Me" Simon and brother-in-law Keith Simon of Los Altos; nephews Ian, William and Peter Simon; niece Catherine Simon and his many dear friends who endeared him and will miss their buddy, who they affectionately referred to as "Johnner City."
There will be a memorial service celebrating John's life on Saturday, January 24th at 2 p.m. at Independence Hall, 2955 Woodside Road, Woodside, California.
Because he loved animals so much, donations may be made in John's honor to The Humane Society of Tuolumne County, P.O. Box 830, Jamestown, California, 95327, or online at http://www.hsotc.org/donate
So sorry to hear about John's passing. John and I spent alot of time during our Selby Lane school days. We were 5 or 6 years old. John later appeared in my life in highschool and thereafter. My fondest memories as a kid were w John and Me's horses. All the love John....
I knew John as a "friend" in High School. Reading of him passing is very sad to me. Later in life, we went separate ways...but our memories are eternal. You will be missed young friend!
Oh John, I am so saddened by news of your transition. It was such fun to reconnect by phone periodically after the many decades since early childhoods on Serrano and Stockbridge.
What a great friend for over 40 yrs. They truly broke the mold after you came along! The adage applies: If you want to take the measure of the kindness of the person, see how he treats animals. Damn, I just spoke to you on Christmas Eve. Will miss you John!
John, Thanks for all the advice over the years, my friend. I had so much fun riding motorcycles and getting towed behind your boat all those times! I will miss you very much and I'm glad we got to hang a lot last year. I can just see you teaching a class up in Heaven on Napoleon Hill. Keep an eye on us and you are always welcome on any ride.
Johnny Vandina, You were a colorful character who was always great to be around. You were the automotive inspiration to all and you will be sorely missed.
John, you left too early. I'll never forget all those years of torture from you and my brother when I was a girl. But behind that was another very another caring big brother who called me at least once a year to see how I was doing for almost 50 years. I will miss your sense of humor, love, and those phone calls.
