Oct. 10, 1943-May 10, 2016
Menlo Park, CA

Dr. Iran Iranpour, left us on May 10, 2016, in Menlo Park, California. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Dr. Manouchehr Kavoosi. Iran was born in 1943 in Tehran, Iran, into a Zoroastrian family, mother Gohar and father Dinyar.

She completed her Medical Doctorate at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. After finishing her residency in Dermatology in 1969, she started her practice as a dermatologist by caring for patients with burn injuries (Savaneh Sookhtegi).

Later she built a private dermatology practice for over thirty years, before retiring to join her children and grandchildren in the U.S. She resided with her husband in Menlo Park, California, since 2009.

Iran was known for her integrity, love, and care. Her sense of humor, compassion, love for nature, especially flowers, and her unpretentiousness were admired.

As a renowned dermatologist, she loved to spend time with her patients to build a personal rapport. She was proud of her education and that of her family, both a Stanford Mom and a Stanford Grandma.

Deeply loved, Iran will be greatly missed by her husband, Manouchehr, her loving children, Suzan and Sam Kavusi, their spouses Fariborz and Armita, her brother Manouchehr, her sisters Simin and Shahin, and her grandchildren Negin, Aidin, and Kevan.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Medical and Nursing staff of Stanford Hematology and Hospital, especially Dr. Beth Martin, for their compassionate care.
