Gail Ann Gavello passed away peacefully on July 20,2026 at Stanford Hospital, two days short of her 84th birthday.

Gail was born on July 22, 1942, in San Francisco to Elmer Gavello and Betty Bollenbach Gavello and was a long time resident of Atherton and Menlo Park. When Gail was 10, she moved with her family to the Peninsula while her father, Elmer, developed the ever popular Gavello Glen subdivision which exists today.Within Gavello Glen, Mr. Gavello named many streets after the family , one of which was Gail Avenue.

She graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart (Sacred Heart Schools) in 1960 and from Santa Clara University in 1964. She was kind and generous; a member of the Junior League, Peninsula Volunteers, Kiwanis Club and in many Catholic charities.

After obtaining a teaching credential, Gail concentrated her interest in the family holdings in San Francisco and throughout California. She was involved in the family real estate business that developed and managed properties throughout California.

After meeting her Italian relatives in Torino,Italy, in 1960, Gail spent time researching and recording the history of the Gavello family that went back generations. While recording the history, Gail visited the family on occasion enjoying the connection she made with them.

She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Alan Gavello. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law Kristina Gavello Petit, her niece Aubrey Gavello Wood, and two nephews, Garrett Gavello and Bryant Gavello and her cousins Jimmy, Gigi, Michelle, and Jamie Maciel.
