Samuel Adam Silverstein
July 19, 1991-July 28, 2026
San Francisco/Atherton, California

Samuel “Sam” Silverstein died unexpectedly on July 28, 2026, at the age of 35.

Sam was a man of remarkable intelligence, creativity, compassion, and humor. He saw the world a little differently, and he had a gift for making others feel seen, accepted, and valued. He measured people not by what they had accomplished or owned, but by who they were.

A gifted artist, talented athlete, and fourth-generation optician, Sam embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He was proud to continue his family’s optical tradition, helping people see better while building genuine connections with those around him.

Those who knew Sam remember his quick wit, infectious laugh, and unwavering loyalty. Friends consistently described him as someone they could count on—a trusted listener, a source of encouragement, and a person guided by kindness and an unshakable sense of what was right.

Sam is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Cynthia Silverstein, and his sister, Eleanor Silverstein. Though his life was far too short, the love he gave and the lives he touched will endure far beyond his years.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Sam’s memory to make a donation to Copper’s Dream Animal Rescue in memory of Sam and his beloved dog, Charlie.
