Marcia Gainer passed away peacefully at age 86 on December 22, 2022.

Born Mary Marcia Gainer at Palo Alto Hospital on Feb. 15, 1936, to Mary Regina Harrington and Thomas Francis Gainer. She grew up in Menlo Park attending St. Joseph’s elementary, then Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton and finished her college education at Notre Dame College.

Marcia was employed at Stanford Medical Center in multiple roles over 25 years. After Stanford, Marcia completed her work life in the insurance industry, retiring at age 70.

Marcia was predeceased by her mother Regina in 1997 and sister Joanne in 2016.

Marcia was a brilliant, gregarious friend who loved socializing, travel, and current events. She was an avid reader and loved eclectic movies.

Marcia is survived by her cousins, Mary Ellen and Richard Harrington of California; Barbara and Tom Walczykowski of Virginia; Thomas, his son Kristoffer and his wife Sabrina Harrington of Nevada; Barbara, Bob and Amy Gregory and Lynn and Andy Jones of California.
