Submitted by Christine Leggett Triska

Jeffry Alan Leggett, 51, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at his home in Carmel Valley, California. Jeff is survived by his two children, Maren and Ryan; his wife Birgitt Leggett; his mother Beverly Allen; his sister Christine Triska; and beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and their children.

Born January 7, 1961, and raised in Atherton, California, by his loving parents, Richard and Beverly Leggett, Jeff attended the University of Oregon where he enjoyed membership in the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and graduated in 1985 with a B.S. degree in telecommunications.

Soon thereafter he married the love of his life, Birgitt Jensen, and embarked on a lifelong career in advertising and marketing.

Following his early years in San Francisco at Mojo and Chiat/Day advertising agencies, he later moved to Seattle to become brand manager at Henry Weinhardt?s Company, eventually founding his own microbrew, Jet City Ale.

Later in life he transitioned to newspaper advertising, getting in on the ground floor at the Palo Alto Daily News, then becoming branch manager for many San Francisco Peninsula editions of that paper. He last worked in sales at the Herald in Monterey County.

A talented golfer, Jeff was captain of Menlo-Atherton High School?s golf team, and in the summers enjoyed many happy rounds with his dad at the Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club.

Some of his hobbies were refurbishing vintage sports cars, remodeling his homes, barbecuing and relaxing with his family and three cats.

Jeff will live on in the hearts of those who loved him as someone who always had a positive outlook on life and a great sense of humor. The family is planning a private celebration of his life at their home in Carmel Valley for a later date.

Donations in Jeff?s memory may be made to Maren and Ryan?s education fund by contacting Todd Bergstrom at Edward Jones, (650) 967-0450. In the meantime, friends may go to: www.missionmortuary.com to sign and leave messages on the online guest book.
